Our mission is to increase the safety of event participants by discouraging members of the public from interfering with the event or its participants. Simply by being present on the course, we can deter someone from acting inappropriately.
Whether by riding alongside them in the rain, asking if they need water in the heat, or providing a source of reassurance riding through the night, Eyes On Wheels riders make a difference for runners, walkers, and bicyclists. While we are not law enforcement or medical specialists, we can act as valuable liasons to race personnel or other officials if problems arise.
How We Patrol
Our riders deploy in one or more patrol teams of two riders each to cover the entire course. Patrols may be during the daytime hours or overnight from sundown to sunrise, depending on the event requirements.
